The Open University has been the catalyst for changing the lives of thousands, offering higher-level education to anyone who has the will and the perseverance. It gives many of those who, through the need to earn a living early in life, were denied higher education, a vital second chance.
My recognition goes out whole heartedly to the excellent institution, from which I was able to obtain a Bachelor degree, which has allowed me to pursue further degrees at other universities, and which, despite having not finished secondary school education, gave me an education in history second to none of those I have since had the chance to experience. The doors to success that this has opened for myself and others is a tribute to the social vision of the founders, and of those working there today.
