The Adult Education Programme run by St Andrew’s Refugee Services (StARS) stems from a need to fill a major service gap: although education is key for successful integration, refugees in Cairo have few opportunities to take up learning. StARS offers a range of computer skills courses, language classes, and a variety of livelihood and handicraft classes, which not only provide refugees with new skills but also a much needed routine. Won the EAEA Grundtvig Award in 2016.
