Design Decisions That Actually Decide: Questions We Don’t Often Ask
Noah has played a part in many explorations of badges to recognize learning and achievement over the past decade, including his years leading The Badge Summit. In that time, he’s learned that when we find ourselves designing in an emergent space like open recognition, our previous experience can be both a useful guide and an unconscious barrier to true design thinking and fresh, new ideas. In his guest plenary, Noah will offer up a series of provocations leading toward some of the searching questions he’d like to see more people asking at critical moments of decision, so that we can uncover those implicit assumptions and avoid the “same old, same old” thinking that just replicates those legacy systems we have come to know so well.
